Housewife Crack

There is an new addiction sweeping the suburbs.  As with any addiction it is wrecking havoc with the lives of millions of women.

All over suburbia soccer moms and working women alike are hunched over giving in to their addiction.  Dinners are late, laundry is wrinkling in the dryer and children are crying out "Mommy, why can't you just stop and play with me?"

If you look closely at the laptops of the executive women you will notice productivity at an all time low.  This addiction is so heinous that it has started to interfere with their ability to do their jobs.

It starts out innocently enough.  A friend suggested you try it.  It seems so innocent at first you don't see how anyone can get hurt.  You decide one day when you have a little time to kill that you will just try it.

The next thing you know you are "pinning".  The "drug" is Pinterest and it has become the virtual crack of the women of America.

Pinterest ( http://pinterest.com) is an online bulletin board where you can go and escape to a fantasy world. It is a lot like the old fashioned bulletin boards of our childhoods where we cut pictures out of magazines and pinned them up to dream about.  Look up any topic and you will find photos of the topic and you can pin them on your virtual bulletin board.. Before you know what has happened you are making categories and pinning all night.  All your fantasies now have a photo to back them up.  Organizational ideas, wedding ideas and even my personal favorite All Things Pink are occupying all your waking hours.

Before long I envision groups across America sitting in a circle introducing themselves and saying "Hello my name is....and I am a Pinterestaholic. It has been two days since I have pinned." Just know I won't be there because I will be perusing through All Things Pink.  What can I say, I am weak.
